Burning Love rocks a small town and five couples Can’t Help Falling in Love in “All Shook Up.”

Songs made famous by Elvis Presley provide the backdrop for a classic love story at PLT.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The director who staged Pensacola Little Theatre’s hit productions of “The Producers” and “Seussical” is back with a musical that weaves songs made famous by Elvis Presley into a story of small town love in the 1950s.

“All Shook Up” Director Roy Bracken is himself an experienced performer, most recently seen in the musical revue “PLT Rewind,” and he teaches Musical Theatre Performance at Pensacola State College. With “All Shook Up,” he is leading a talented cast of two-dozen volunteer performers in the creation of a high-energy show featuring spectacular dance numbers.

The story, loosely based on Shakespeare’s comedy “Twelfth Night,” begins with ex-con Chad roaring into a Midwestern berg looking for a mechanic to work on his motorcycle. He finds a town where the mayor has banned loud music, indecent behavior, and excitement of any kind. Chad’s arrival sparks rebellion and love in the town’s residents, and no less than five couples have paired off by the end of this toe-tapping show.

Featured performers in this production are Gabe Friedman, Kathleen Hewitt, Zack Holcombe, Sarah Javier, Emily Mixon, Amy Pearson, John Samms, Larry Titus, Sheryl VandenBerg and Patrick Winkles. Supporting cast members are Janah Brown, Brittany Gallegos, Cameron Gonzales, Wesley Gonzales, Caitlin Haveard, Nicholas Lakatos, Tanya McIntyre, Denley Messerly, Lindsay Riddle, Shana Sauls, Nathan Toepfer, Liza Wenzel, Sheila Wilkins, and Mathew Woessner.

Performances dates for “All Shook Up” are September 10-12, 17-19 and 24-26, 2010. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30pm. Sunday performances begin at 2:30pm. Ticket prices range from $15 to $25 per person, and discounts are available for seniors 60+, full-time students, active duty military, and groups of 10 or more. A $1 handling fee is added to all tickets sold. Tickets are available through the Box Office Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., in person or by phone at (850) 432-2042.

Special thanks to our media sponsors: AT&T’s Real Yellow Pages, Ballinger Publishing, WEAR-TV, WFGX TV, Soft Rock 94.1, Splash Magazine, Gulf Breeze News, and WPNN AM 790. Financial support for PLT programs is provided in part by the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs.

“All Shook Up” is the first production of Pensacola Little Theatre’s 74th Anniversary Season. PLT is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization that provides a complete theatrical experience to children and adults. Through volunteer opportunities, outreach programs, classes and performances, PLT inspires and challenges artists and audiences with diverse and stimulating programs year round. PLT is located inside the Pensacola Cultural Center at 400 South Jefferson Street, in Downtown Pensacola. Coaching

One of the most powerful things a manager or supervisor can do to improve performance is to coach employees and provide specific, behavioral feedback. Despite this, leaders often avoid or delay performance discussions – fearing conflict, hurt feelings, or damaged relationships. At our September 14th ASTD meeting, we will explore the role and attributes of an effective coach; review guidelines for coaching employees and giving feedback; and apply the “feedforward” model with each other.

Tracey Tapp and Julie Ray of Human Resource Solutions, Inc. will be presenting.

As an extra bonus, Becky Spence, mentor with Take Stock in Children will speak with us about the organization, her role as a volunteer mentor, and the various ways we can support or possibly get involved in making a difference with our young people.
